bust a move

If you're holed up in the studio all day, then getting just half an hour of exercise can really do wonders for your health. Consider swapping the bus for a bike and cycle to Uni for a cheaper, fun and healthy commute; or join one of our weekly MOVE fitness classes. With MOVE, you can choose to attend one or both of our weekly classes in Yoga, Pilates, Boxercise, Zumba and more.

We’ve also got some great sports teams and clubs to get you busting a move. Our Netball, Badminton and Football teams are always looking for new players and if team sports aren’t for you, there’s always Run Club. Getting involved in sports and fitness whilst at University is a great way to stay healthy, boost your mental health and make some great mates along the way!

Do something you enjoy

Revisit sports you loved when you were younger, ride a bike or play frisbee in the park. Get your friends involved and make it fun.

Schedule it in

When planning out your week [we like to do this on a Sunday evening to help us stay on top!] make sure you think about factoring in some exercise. Even just setting aside 10 minutes each morning to practice yoga and gentle stretching will kick start your day and make you feel energised.

Make it a team effort

Working out with someone else means you can incorporate your social life into an active lifestyle and makes you more likely to commit to the activity.

Reach for the apps

Struggle with that motivation? Us too. Fitness and training apps that provide everything from quick 10 minute workouts to week long programmes are incredibly handy! We like Nike Training Club, MyFitnessPal and Strava.
