My/Your/Our Space: Open Call

The theme, agreed at the last My/ Your / Our Space in December, is ‘Wealth’. This celebrates the many ways in which we are wealthy: in the interconnectedness and support of our communities, variety and beauty of our cultures, our strength and experience in overcoming challenges, and beyond. This will be a great opportunity to work as a team and connect with other POC or minority ethnic creatives!! 

We have invited those interested in exhibiting to bring work they have or initial rough works to our next session, Wednesday 5th February 12 – 1pm in the Students' Union. That is the main way to register interest, as the group will be a space to have conversations about each other’s work and share thoughts and feedback. If you are unable to attend the session for any reason (clash with course/job), you can fill out the Microsoft Form attached in the SU instagram Linktree to register your interest. We will then arrange another time for you to bring in your work and discuss. 

My/Your/Our Space started in 2023/24 as a creative and social space for students who identify as a person of colour or coming from a minoritised ethnicity, and are looking to connect.

Uniting as a strong community, come and join us for free refreshments and shape the space to work for you: to present your work and get feedback, engage in creative activities (such as creating videos and zines), discussions, film screenings, open mic, games, invited academic and culture-based talks, and more. 

Beyond this safer space, there is also an opportunity to host events open to the wider university, for example celebrating cultural festivals and important dates.
