Would you like to contribute to all of our decisions and provide your thoughts on events, activities and campaigns delivered by the Union?

Becoming a member of our SU Executive Officer Committee is a great addition to your CV as it demonstrates leadership, communication and organisational skills.

The Committee is made up of elected positions which represent the interests of the student body. These roles are voluntary (not paid) and managed alongside your studies so make sure you are prepared to take this commitment on before putting your name forward. The roles are open to all current Higher Education members who will be students throughout the academic year 2026/27.

The Committee approves new societies, and is the catalyst for growth and change in the union which keeps our student community buzzing with activity. You’ll also champion student feedback, listening to what union members want to see and play a part in making those activities and events actually happen.

As part of these roles, you may also have the opportunity to sit on a University Committee. All of the Students’ Union Executive Officer roles require as a minimum, regular attendance at:

• Students’ Union Executive Officer Committee meetings - 3 times a year

• Student Executive meetings with the VC and PVC - 3 times a year

• Annual General Meeting – Once a year

You will also ensure that the Students’ Union Code and Constitution are complied with. For more details of responsibilities, see section 13 and 14 in the Code of Practice.
