Being part of the Union is about having a voice and being heard in a way that could be invaluable in your future and the future of others! The students chosen to represent you will play an important role in making a difference to your time at LAU so make sure you have your say and nominate yourself or speak to others and encourage them to apply!
STUDENT GOVERNOR

As Student Governor, you’ll sit on a committee of senior professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds, giving you a behind-the-scenes view of how the University works and the chance to contribute to how major decisions are made. It’s a brilliant chance to network, boost your confidence, grow valuable professional skills and make a real impact for your peers.
In role you will ensure effective communication between Students’ Union members, senior staff at the University and other stakeholders. You will help to approve the plans and proposed actions of the University and promote active engagement with the Union to all its members.
This role is subject to an interview and will involve an induction. Currently there are 6 meetings per year which take place on Wednesday afternoons 1.00-3.30pm at Blenheim Walk, plus 2 development meetings. Attendance in person is expected.
The Student Governor will attend the Student Executive Officer Committee rather than be a voting member or a trustee.
