STUDENT GOVERNOR

The role of Student Governor puts you right at the heart of university life and brings your first-hand student experience directly to the Board of Governors! Your unique perspective can help inform decisions about the kind of university we are and where we should be looking to adapt and develop to improve student life at Leeds Arts for the future.

As Student Governor, you’ll sit on a committee of experienced, creative industry professionals and get a first look at board papers before each meeting, giving you a behind-the-scenes view of how the university works and how major decisions are made. It’s a brilliant chance to network, boost your confidence in public speaking, grow valuable professional skills for your CV and make a real impact for your peers.

In role you will ensure effective communication between Student Union members, senior staff at the University and other stakeholders. You will help to approve the plans and proposed actions of the university and promote active engagement with the Union to all its members. See section 13 in the Code of Practice for further details on the responsibilities of the Students’ Union Executive Officers.
