Skill

Swap

Our Skill Swap initiative provides support for student-led creative workshops, activities and events that promote and support collaboration, networking and skill-sharing between courses.

Supported by the University’s Widening Participation team, Skill Swap provides a platform for all students to develop skills in workshop delivery, event organisation and networking skills. All supported by the Union!

Skill Swap is a place for you to share your creativity, skills and ideas with our University community!

WHAT KIND OF EVENT

CAN A SKILL SWAP BE?

A Skill Swap event can be anything you think would be beneficial to share or discuss with other people. It's really as simple as that! This could be a workshop to share a skill like lettering, zine-making or crochet. Or could even be an event like creative speed dating, a portfolio review or debate on sustainable practices.

If you've got an idea and you're not sure, why not get in touch on student.union@leeds-art.ac.uk and we'll chat.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

It's simple! If you have a Skill Swap event you would like to run, please complete the online proposal form below.

This will then be reviewed by the Student Liaison and Widening Participation teams who will be in touch with any questions or considerations.

Please keep in mind that your proposed event should be accessible and inclusive to all students. Try to give as much information as possible when completing the proposal form. We recommend that Skill Swap events are hosted Monday - Friday between 12 - 1pm or after 4pm.
