STUDENT PRESIDENT

Fancy being the Student President 22-23?

Duration of term: 4th July 2022 – 25th August 2023

Eligibility: This position is open to students who will be completing their final year this summer. This would include BA & MA Degree students. 

 

As Student President, you would be the main representative of all Leeds Arts University students, seeking to increase student engagement and involvement with all aspects of Leeds Arts Union and the University. Becoming a key link between students, staff and senior management, help to drive the development of the Union – with the goal to continually improve and enhance the student experience. 

Through supporting the Executive Officers and joining the the Union staff team, you would develop fantastic communication and leadership skills – playing a vital role in creating positive change for all students at LAU. 

Being part of the Union’s diverse team will provide a huge amount of experience that will be invaluable in your future. You will develop and gain skills in content creation, communication, administration, leadership and confidence building, organising and chairing meetings, planning a huge range of events and activities, campaigning and facilitating student-led change. 

The Student President attends a range of University committee meetings and is a member of the University’s Board of Governors, ensuring that the student voice is at the heart of the University’s decision making process. You’re sure to have an exciting year, learn a lot and will play an incredibly important role in making a difference to your fellow LAU students.
